Recent clinical research shows a Muira Puama extract to be more effective than the prescription drug, yohimbine hydrochloride, for loss of libido and impotency. The clinical trials were conducted at the Institute of Sexology in Paris by Dr. Jacques Waynberg, one of the world's leading authorities on sexual function.

The first Muira Puama clinical trial with 262 patients showed 62% of patients with loss of libido claimed the treatment had dynamic effect and 51% with erection failures felt that Muira Puama was of benefit. The second clinical trial with 100 patients reported that 70% indicated a strengthening of their libido, 66% reported a greater frequency of sex, and 66% reported less fatigue.

There were no reported side effects with Muira Puama in either of the recent trials. This compares to the clinical effectiveness of yohimbine of only 34% with numerous reported side effects. Further more, most of the available OTC yohimbe products contain very little yohimbine, therefore provides much less benefit than yohimbine.
